Bannon surprised by GOP candidate’s lock her up message: ‘You’ve become very Trumpian, very quickly’

On Steve Bannon's show, GOP Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake — fresh off an endorsement from former President Donald Trump — dove right in by claiming that her likely Democratic opponent, Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, will likely be arrested for rigging the vote.

"You think it's going to be an easy race against Katie Hobbs?" asked Bannon.

"I think Katie Hobbs is going to have a really tough time campaigning from behind bars, to be honest," said Lake, a conspiracy theorist who has called for Trump to be placed on Mount Rushmore. "That's where that woman might be in short order."

"You've become very Trumpian, very quickly," laughed Bannon. "What do you mean, Katie Hobbs is going to be behind bars?"

"Okay, you know what I mean, Steve," said Lake. "She's basically the mastermind of the 2020 election here in Arizona. Secretary of state oversees the election. And we know, and we saw proof last Friday when we saw the forensic audit report detailed for us all of the fraud, all of the, what appears to be criminal activity."

The partisan, GOP-backed "Cyber Ninjas" audit did not actually find any evidence of fraud, and actually purported to find extra votes for President Joe Biden that the county hadn't tallied.
