Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton held a tele-town hall as part of his run for U.S. Senate, and he was confronted by a question he didn't want to answer.
"Hi Paxton, nice to meet you," said one caller. "I'm just wondering — why did you cheat on your wife?"
"Um. I'm not going to talk about personal issues that relate to my family, just like I don't think you would want to discuss your marriage on a call with thousands of people," said Paxton. "All I can tell you is that I'm proud of my kids."

The extent of Paxton's infidelity, which caused his marriage to fall apart, has been directly linked to his abuse-of-power scandal, which led to the Republican-dominated Texas House of Representatives impeaching him. He escaped conviction by a vote of the state Senate and worked behind the scenes to boost primary challengers to many of the state representatives who voted to impeach him.
Paxton is locked in an unusually competitive race with Democratic state representative and Presbyterian minister James Talarico.
Paxton is being dogged by his extramarital indiscretions wherever he campaigns. Earlier this week, hecklers disrupted his event in Houston, shouting "You cheated on your wife!" as he tried to question Talarico's Christian faith.
