Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) confirmed early Thursday that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) remains hospitalized and is undergoing rehabilitation.
Speaking with journalist Nicholas Ballasy, Tuberville explained, "He lives next door to me. He's still in the hospital, he's doing rehab."
McConnell, 84, has not appeared on video since his hospitalization in June, fueling speculation about his condition despite his office releasing still photos in July.
Tuberville warned McConnell's continued absence could delay Senate votes on President Donald Trump's agenda, including Todd Blanche's attorney general confirmation.
When asked whether he was surprised McConnell's team hadn't released video to address doubts, Tuberville responded with a tight smile.
McConnell's office has provided minimal information beyond boilerplate statements.
Tuberville previously asked McConnell's office to release video, acknowledging the lack of transparency about the situation.
