Trump has a 'crazy list' of 'shocking' policy ideas that he'll leak to distract from scandals: Omarosa
Estranged Trump ally Omarosa Manigault-Newman on Thursday revealed to MSNBC's "Morning Joe" what she claimed were President Donald Trump's secrets to creating distractions from assorted White House scandals.
According to Omarosa, current White House aide Stephen Miller and former top political strategist Steve Bannon created a list of what she called "shocking" policy ideas that they would release strategically to change the conversation whenever a story that was negative for the White House was dominating news coverage.
"They have these lists of shocking proposals and they would just keep them on the side," she explained. "Whenever they needed to throw a hand grenade to blow up the press or take over the front covers of the newspaper, they would pull out one of these very shocking proposals."
Not all of these policies are intended to become official, Omarosa said, she some of them did actually make the cut.
"Early on in the administration, they talked about [immigrant] child separations, and we never imagined they'd do it," she said. "But that was one of the shocking proposals on that crazy list."
The former Trump aide said that the president's goal oftentimes is simply to "create chaos" to get away with "hiding something from the American people."
