Former MAGA candidate: Trump is 'too divisive' and 'tearing the country apart'
Retired Gen. Don Bolduc wants to make it clear to voters in New Hampshire: Republicans shouldn't nominate Donald Trump again.
It's a sharp turnaround for Bolduc, who in 2022 ran for Senate in the state on Trump's endorsement, and pushed a variety of bizarre claims, like that schools were giving litter boxes to children who identified as animals. Weeks before the election, however, Bolduc backed off his claims of election denial, admitting the election wasn't stolen.
And now, he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Tuesday, he has sworn off Trump altogether.

"You previously supported Donald Trump and his false claims that he won the election in 2020, but you eventually said that you did the research and found that Donald Trump was wrong," said Blitzer. "Given your concerns, and the fact that you have said that Trump is now part of that swamp right now, would you support Donald Trump if he were to become the Republican nominee?"
"I'm going to have to do a lot of thinking about that, but it is going to be very difficult for me to do that," said Bolduc. "He is too divisive for me. He will tear the country apart. He has done it before. He has already said that he's going to be a vindictive president. He is focused on the past. We need to move forward."
That, Bolduc continued, "is why it is important for people to support Nikki Haley."
"She will move us forward," he added. "We will be more prosperous under Nikki Haley. That is just a fact. And she beats Biden by 17 points!"
