We'll Just Call It H1-Jonah So Everyone Knows To Stay Away

Although yes, it is fun to make fun of the constant renaming of the swine flu (Political correctness! Confusing name! Trent Reznor's new concept album!), but it's, uh, actually important, as people and governments react to what the disease is called.

If you keep emailing me, the mockery will continue

Andrew Sullivan continues to send his minions to attempt to annoy me to death. He fails to understand that this is Pandagon, and we are professionals at the art of pointless blog warring. He also fails to understand that I know cartoonists who also consider the entire existence of the Cheeto-munching moral and intellectual midgets that drive the continued popularity of Ayn Rand novels to be as hilarious as I do. You can click them to get the full size.

Foxx tries to backtrack on Shepard comments: 'hoax' was a poor choice of words

A poor choice of words? Too late for you, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC5). You know you meant what you said when you spewed that hate on the floor of the House of Representative. You shamed yourself, your district and your state with that filth. And this backtracking is only because you must have had no clue how out of step you are with basic decency. The NC GOP was laughing at the anger over your remarks. I doubt they are laughing now as they have to explain to the media why the party of Jesse Helms and Elizabeth Dole refuse to enter the 21st century. (WXII12-Winston-Salem):

But I'm the nutty one

Update: God, I'm going to regret posting this, aren't I? Libertarians are easily the most sensitive, easily offended, bed-wetting crybabies on the entire internet, which is a real achievement when you consider the competition. Internet libertarians have no life and no qualms about trying to shut down criticism and mockery of them by flooding your comments with wankery and whining. It's like they want to make a blogger's life as hard as that of an insanely pampered dot com millionaire who wants to escape with Captain Kirk to the stars.

Uh oh -- RNC's Steele may lose control of party purse strings

Oh snap. This is humiliating for Michael "MC" Steele. Since all the talk has been about when he was getting the boot, it looks like the insiders would prefer a death by a thousand cuts, in this case, don't trust the money with the negro.

Global pandemics make stupid people even stupider

Every day that this swine flu crisis continues,* conservative reactions in particular promise to get more and more crazy. Yesterday, they were blaming the swine flu on Kathleen Sebelius's program of mandatory abortions, and now the mere fact of having a Democratic President brings swine flu to America, according to Michelle Bachmann.

NOM's and Harry Jackson's Stand4Marriage Rally flops; Marion Barry spouts off about morality

The National Organization for Marriage and Bishop Harry Jackson were expecting thousands of "Christians" to show up at today's rally in Washington, DC that was supposed to intimidate the City Council, which recently cast a preliminary vote in favor of recognizing same-sex marriages.
