'You never take responsibility': Debate questions released 'to hold Trump accountable'

The Philadelphia Inquirer Editorial Board this weekend published an op-ed that includes a list of debate questions the editors say is the only possible way for the moderators "to hold [Donald] Trump accountable."

"Given his appalling record, Trump has no business being on a presidential debate stage, let alone one in the shadows of Independence Hall," but since the debate against 2024 Democratic nominee Kamala Harris is two days away, and "roughly two months to go in what is expected to be a close election, voters need the media and debate moderators to treat Trump as the serious threat he is to the future of the country and the free world," the board writes.

'Very troubled' Trump has become 'hyper-aware' he's making less sense: expert

Donald Trump's recent admission that his speeches and answers to questions are larded with digressions and off-ramps into odd and often irrelevant anecdotes is a sign that he knows that he is slipping mentally, suggests one of his biographers who has known him for years.

In a column for the Guardian, Chris McGreal wrote that Trump's excuse at a speech that he "weaves" stories together to make a greater point should raise suspicions that he is— as McGreal put it — "losing it."

‘Shameful’: Ex-senator slams Rick Scott's new 'infuriating' claim

U.S. Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) is under fire over video of him baselessly telling students and women doctors would “crush” the “skull” of babies just minutes before they are born, if abortion were legal, apparently at nine months, or starve them to death immediately after. The secretly recorded video, reportedly recorded and leaked by a student, is going viral.

“…you crush a baby’s skull,” Scott says in the video (below), which has received over 400,000 views in under four hours. “A baby that would be born healthy and alive at nine months, two minutes before, okay, it could be crushed and killed,” Scott can be heard saying in the video, remarks very similar to ones he has made before. NCRM has not verified the authenticity of the video or its context, which was posted to social media by attorney and MeidasTouch editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski.

Convicted murderer set free by Trump beat his wife after release: report

Former President Donald Trump made a number of controversial pardons and commutations on his way out the door in 2021, but one that has flown under the radar has been the sentence commutation of Jaime A. Davidson, a New York man who spent decades behind bars after being convicted of murdering a federal law enforcement officer in the early 1990s.

Since his pardon, however, it seems that Davidson has not kept his nose clean.

'Genuinely chilling': Analyst sounds alarm over Trump's latest bizarre speeches

Donald Trump’s recent speeches have lapsed into an incoherence that’s striking even for him — and it’s causing a whole new level of panic over his possible return to the White House, an MSNBC columnist wrote Tuesday.

Using a recent address in Potterville, Michigan to illustrate his point, writer Zeeshan Aleem commented that Trump had always been rambling — but he seems to have reached a new level of confusion.

Smith to reveal new Trump evidence 'the American people do not yet know about': expert

A 10-page joint filing that Department of Justice special counsel Jack Smith submitted late Friday night with former President Donald Trump's legal team in his Washington, D.C. election interference case was mostly unremarkable, aside from one specific line.

Politico reported that Smith maintains he is ready to move forward with the case "promptly at any time the Court deems appropriate," and emphasized to Judge Tanya Chutkan that it was up to her how to proceed. But as former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner observed during a Saturday segment on MSNBC, the initially dry joint status report becomes much more interesting given Smith's suggestion that previously unknown evidence against Trump may soon come to light.

'It was your request, not mine': Trump attempts push-back on Arlington photo-op firestorm

On Sunday afternoon, Donald Trump took another stab at laying off blame for his illegal presidential campaign stunt at Arlington National Cemetery earlier in the week where he was photographed smiling and giving a thumbs-up by the graves of American war heroes.

Though days have passed since the controversial meet-up with families that turned into a less than somber photo-op, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to try and put out the firestorm he created which has outraged veterans and the families of those buried at Arlington.

According to the former president, he was invited by several families and it was in no way his idea to personally honor the war dead.

On Truth Social, he wrote, "I want to thank the families of our Great Warriors who have been lost to us for the way they came together as one, and thanked me for attending, at their request, the Celebration of their wonderful family members who, because of the Incompetence of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, are no longer with us. Thank you for saying you wanted me to stand with you at Arlington National Ceremony, and take pictures, that it was your request, not mine, but it was my Great Honor to do so."

"I WILL NEVER FORGET!" he added. "Lightweight V.P. Kamala Harris tried turning it around, because they weren’t there, have never spoken to the families, and have no intention to do so. In Afghanistan, you don’t take the Soldiers out first, you take the Soldiers out last. This would be Military 101, the most basic, and the “leaders” of that Disaster should be immediately fired."

He then made an attempt to move on by obliquely noting the murder of six Israeli hostages taken in Gaza by adding, "We have FOOLS in the White House, and now, they are trying to solve the Hostage Crisis in Israel. Guess how that’s going to turn out?"
