Mitt Romney is Lying Out of His Lie-Hole Again, Bin Laden Edition
Mitt the Liar is still trying to pretend like he never said that "it wasn't worth moving heaven and earth... just trying to catch one person." That one person being Osama bin Laden, of course. Remember him? We hate him.
Now Mitt is all, "Wha!?!! Of course I would have taken out bin Laden!"
"Of course." Like it was never a question. Like he was gung ho about going after Osama bin Laden.
Except that's a lie. One that he repeated today during his walkabout in New York City with Rudy "A Noun, A Verb, 9/11" Giuliani:
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney came to New York City on Tuesday to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the death of Osama bin Laden — but had his event somewhat spoiled by a very loud activist who repeatedly yelled that he was a “racist.”Appearing with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) on the street outside a firehouse, the former Massachusetts avoided mentioning President Barack Obama’s role in ordering the attack on bin Laden until he was asked about it by a reporter.
“Of course I would have ordered taking out Osama bin Laden,” Romney told reporters. “Had I been president of the United States, I would have made the same decision the president did, which is to remove him. And I acknowledged actually a year ago when this was announced that the president deserved credit for the decision that he made and I continue to believe that and certainly would have taken that action myself.”
Uh, what? Your new claim is that you would have made the same decision that the president did, and you're trying to claim that last year you "acknowledged" as much when you gave the president credit for the decision he made?
What in THEE hell are you talking about?
Whether or not you think President Obama "deserves" credit for the decision he made has nothing to do with whether you yourself would have made that decision, especially since you said that it was "not worth moving heaven and earth and spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person."
Come on, dude. Just stop it.
President Obama made the decision to send in American troops, even though his Vice President, Slappy Happy Joe, did not want to do it. If sending in special ops and spending a crapload of money to "catch one person" doesn't constitute "moving heaven and earth," then I don't know what does.
