Four people were killed, including three children, in a shooting at an elementary school in Bend, Oregon, CNN reported Thursday.
The suspect is also dead, according to the network.
CNN chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst John Miller described the shooting as a "rapidly unfolding incident,” noting that police arrived within two minutes of the initial alert.
“By 1:02, police were on the scene, and the shooter at that point was already neutralized, already down,” Miller said. "What that tells us is this was a very rapidly unfolding incident."
He added that authorities were still working to determine whether the violence began in the school parking lot before moving inside the building.
“The picture is still coming together, but it appears that we have some bad news,” Miller said.
