This Trump enabler has done more damage than the rest of them combined

John Roberts came to the U.S. Supreme Court professing the best of intentions. In his 2005 Senate confirmation hearing, he promised to serve as chief justice in the fashion of a baseball umpire, calling only “balls and strikes, and not to pitch or bat.” Two years later, in an interview with law professor Jeffrey Rosen, he mused that the court’s many acrimonious 5-to-4 decisions could lead to “a steady wasting away of the notion of the rule of law” and ultimately undermine the court’s perceived legitimacy as a nonpartisan institution.

Roberts said that as the court’s leader, he would stress a “team dynamic,” encouraging his colleagues to join narrow, unanimous decisions rather than sweeping split rulings.

My forefather was a GOP president and Supreme Court justice. Trump would disgust him.

Even out of power, Donald Trump seems to think he is The King and the Supreme Court is now the Court of King’s Bench.

Like many of us, I tuned in to the Republican National Convention on July 18 and listened to the former president deliver his acceptance speech.

Staggering report claims 'secret deal' links Trump ally and notorious MS-13 gang

In mid-April, President Donald Trump sat down in the Oval Office with President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador to celebrate a new partnership. They had recently negotiated an extraordinary deal in which El Salvador agreed to incarcerate in a maximum security prison hundreds of Venezuelan immigrants that the Trump administration had labeled as violent criminals, though few had been convicted of such crimes. The U.S. also sent back accused members of the notorious Salvadoran gang MS-13 — which both the U.S. and El Salvador have designated as a terrorist organization.

Bukele’s presidency has been defined by his successful crackdown against MS-13. He has jailed tens of thousands of alleged gang members, transforming one of the hemisphere’s most dangerous nations into one of its safest. Although human rights groups have criticized his tactics, Bukele remains extremely popular in El Salvador.

Former Trump official attempted a 'coup' at the DOJ: ethics counsel

A Washington ethics lawyer took aim at a former senior official in the U.S. Justice Department during the Trump administration, saying he tried to use the DOJ to help Donald Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 election results.
