Republicans are looking to prop up Independent — and former Democrat — incumbent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema in an effort to split the Democratic Party vote and boost GOP candidate Kari Lake's chances in the Arizona Senate race next year, Politico reported.

The party is reportedly worried that Sinema seems able to attract twice the number of Republican voters in a three-way race as Democrats, so members of the National Republican Senatorial Committee have launched a new digital ad that touts her liberal beliefs while attacking likely Democratic nominee Ruben Gallego.

'Beyond my comprehension': Former Trump official shocked that anyone still supports him

Many former Trump administration officials believe the former president is unfit to hold public office again — and cannot comprehend why he still has a large fanbase of voters prepared to elect him, reported The Washington Post on Monday.

"Among their reasons for opposing a second Trump term, they cite the 91 criminal charges against him, his attempts to overturn the 2020 election, his false claims of election fraud, his incendiary rhetoric in office, his desire to weaponize the Justice Department, his chaotic management style, his likely personnel choices in a second term, and his affinity for dictators," noted Post reporter Josh Dawsey.
