Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) may have inadvertently highlighted significant questions swirling around former President Donald Trump's reported phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a Washington Post analyst.

According to journalist Bob Woodward, Trump has had as many as seven phone calls with Putin since leaving office in 2021. The former U.S. president went so far as to reportedly provide COVID-19 tests to Putin.

A group of more than 60 House Democrats joined together Wednesday to urge House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to “immediately” address aid for Hurricanes Helene and Milton and call Congress back into session, according to a report in Axios.

The letter, signed by 63 House Democrats, comes as lawmakers fear the active storm season will drain emergency agencies’ budgets before lawmakers are due back in Washington next month, Axios reported.

A leading Democratic U.S. Senator is calling Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s alleged handing over of COVID testing machines to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the height of the pandemic, “damning” and “disqualifying.”

“So, news just broke that Donald Trump, when he was president, at the beginning of the pandemic—when we didn’t have enough supplies to keep people alive here in the United States—sent critical in-demand testing equipment to Vladimir Putin,” explained U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT). “Donald Trump chose to keep Vladimir Putin alive and let Americans die.”

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz appeared on a Twitch stream of the popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft for an unorthodox voter outreach event, reported Wired.

The event, which started at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time, was set as of publication time to "include a live feed of Walz’s Arizona speech with Preheat, a Twitch creator, playing the game and providing commentary. Preheat is expected to highlight their connection to the campaign and encourage viewers to make a plan to vote," reported Makena Kelly.

White House correspondent April Ryan sounded the alarm on a possible second Donald Trump term, suggesting Wednesday that the former president “wants to be the new age founding father of dictatorship” — and pass the presidency on to Donald Trump Jr. “or whomever he chooses.”

“Every piece of life that we see today will be totally different,” Ryan said on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House” on Wednesday afternoon. “We will – all of us – will be affected by what happens at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue if Donald Trump becomes president and carries out the dictatorship as he says he will. Believe him when he says things.”
