Supreme Court's earthquake ruling hands Trump a key win ahead of midterms

The Supreme Court caused an earthquake on Monday after it sided with President Donald Trump's order to restrict mail-in ballots ahead of the 2026 midterms, according to reports.

The court's decision to pause a temporary injunction leaves open the possibility for lower courts to challenge Trump's executive order on mail-in ballots, which places significant restrictions on when the ballots can be used. The order also required the Postal Service to create its own database of voters who vote by mail, the legality of which is still up in the air, according to the Supreme Court.

Some legal experts described the ruling as "a big win" for the Trump administration.
