Seattle radio host Danny Bonaduce announces retirement

Seattle radio host and former child star Danny Bonaduce announced Monday he’s retiring. Friday will be his last day on the radio, he said in a post on X. Bonaduce, 64, will retire in Palm Springs, as well as keep a place in Seattle, he said. “Thank you for 12 amazing years on KZOK,” he said. Bonaduce has co-hosted a morning talk and music show for classic-rock station KZOK-FM since 2012. In 2022, he took a brief break from the show after a medical issue left him with what he described as strokelike symptoms. Last week, Bonaduce posted on X he has hydrocephalus, a neurological disorder caused b......

Kansas cops ‘chased’ elderly man for driving 3 mph over limit then tased him, lawsuit says

An 80-year-old man filed a lawsuit this week against an eastern Kansas sheriff’s office for allegedly tasing him without warning after officers pursued him for driving 3 mph over the speed limit. In his federal lawsuit, John Sigg said a lieutenant with the Iola Police Department in Allen County on April 16, 2021, clocked him driving 38 mph in an area where the speed limit was 35 and decided to give “chase.” Multiple police vehicles followed Sigg for a few minutes as he drove to his family’s car lot, although he did not realize he was “the subject of the pursuit,” his attorney wrote. He parked,......

New York event planner charged with fatally shoving Barbara Maier Gustern sent back to jail

NEW YORK — A Manhattan judge revoked the $500,000 bail Tuesday of Queens event planner Lauren Pazienza after new details emerged about the wine-fueled rampage that preceded her alleged deadly shove of a beloved 87-year-old voice coach. Pazienza, 26, dressed in a black suit, was detained at her state Supreme Court arraignment after pleading not guilty to manslaughter and assault for Barbara Maier Gustern’s killing. The two women were strangers. Judge Felicia Mennin said the facts of the case had made her concerned Pazienza will not show up to court. “I’m concerned that Ms. Pazienza is a flight ......

7 hours of sleep is ideal for middle-age and elderly people, study finds

Don’t sleep on this study. Middle-age and older people should sleep seven hours each night for ideal rest and recovery, according to a study published last week. The research, published in Nature Aging, studied nearly 500,000 people between the ages of 38 and 73. “While we can’t say conclusively that too little or too much sleep causes cognitive problems, our analysis looking at individuals over a longer period of time appears to support this idea,” co-author Jianfeng Feng said in a statement. Researchers found that people who got exactly seven hours of sleep on a consistent basis saw better m......

Elderly woman has her car stolen, gets run over in Long Island church parking lot

An elderly woman had her car stolen in the parking lot of a Long Island church — and then was run over by the thief, police said Sunday. Victim Lorraine Lombardo, 73, was seriously injured but is expected to survive. Lombardo pulled into the St. Mary’s Church parking lot on Lake Shore Drive in Lake Ronkonkoma about 6:45 p.m. Saturday and got out of her idling 2013 Chevrolet Spark near the clothing donation bins. That’s when Doreen Dunbar, 50, saw her chance and jumped into the driver’s seat, Suffolk County police said. Lombardo ran back to her car, opened the driver’s side door and grabbed the......
