A red state leader's claim during an Oval Office visit was met with an outpouring of corrections by online critics.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told reporters on Friday, "Separation of Church and state is not in the Constitution," while standing behind Trump. The Texas Board of Education approved a required reading list earlier that day that included passages from the Bible.

The reactions online included fact-checking posts that pointed out where the Separation of Church and State comes from and its relationship to the Constitution....

An Indiana church is urging the Trump administration to "execute" members of the LGBTQ community because "the Bible teaches that those people are worthy of death," according to WISH-TV 8 in Indianapolis.

In a sermon titled, "Pray the Gay Away," Stephen Falco, an evangelical preacher with the Sure Foundation Baptist Church, yelled from the pulpit, "They're all a bunch of f-----, that want to walk around, come on our streets, and demand our children. And we should look them in the eye and say, 'No, you're not going to have our children!'"

Oklahoma is accepting bids to supply its Department of Education with 55,000 Bibles, but vendors can only find two versions that meet all the statutory requirements – and both of them happen to be endorsed by Donald Trump.

The bid documents show that Bibles must be the King James version, contain both the Old and New Testaments, be bound in leather or leather-like material, and include copies of the Pledge of Allegiance, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, but vendors are suspicious of the requirements, reported The Oklahoman.

The special binding and inclusion of government documents will exclude almost all bidders. If the bid specs exclude most bidders unnecessarily, I could consider that a violation.”...

Shemane Nugent, the wife of conservative rocker Ted Nugent, said she had "goosebumps" over the weekend after singer Lee Greenwood suggested that the assassination attempt on Donald Trump was predicted in the Christian Bible.

During an interview on Shemane Nugent's Real America's Voice program Sunday, Greenwood urged viewers to purchase a copy of the Bible that he was marketing alongside Trump.

"And so with faith being a forefront for President Trump's campaign and my family as well, my wife Kim and I and our two boys Dalton and Parker, we pray at all our meals, we pray at everything that we do about what's coming tomorrow and the next day," Greenwood explained. "And so we kind of listen, and we listen as hard as we can to the message from God and see exactly what he has planned."...

Donald Trump being nearly killed at his own rally has caused some unexpected reactions, including some of the ex-president's allies and supporters who have responded by linking the shooting to the Bible.

Trump-aligned U.S. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) is in hot water on Sunday after he claimed that Donald Trump went golfing the day after being shot in the ear at his rally.
