Trump's 'weaklings and cowards' attack may have violated pretrial release terms: Analyst

A rambling social media screed in which Donald Trump dubbed court witnesses "weaklings and cowards" could be seen as an “implicit threat," a Washington Post opinion piece said Wednesday.

The former U.S. president took to Truth Social Tuesday night, soon after reports surfaced that Mark Meadows, his co-defendant and former chief of staff, had been granted immunity to deliver key testimony in the federal trial involving attempts to overturn the 2020 election result.

“Some people would make that deal, but they are weaklings and cowards, and so bad for the future [of] our Failing Nation,” Trump wrote. ...

The real reason Fani Willis wants Trump's co-defendants to flip: Legal experts

Former Trump lawyer: Trump might sell out the nation for 'a book of stamps' if sent to prison

Donald Trump should get "significant home confinement" because he might trade top-secret government info for food or stamps in prison, according to the former president's previous lawyer.

Michael Cohen, who recently issued a warning to Trump's co-defendant and valet Walt Nauta and suggested Trump "may have to have a public defender" because he doesn't listen to counsel, appeared on CNN on Wednesday to discuss recent developments in the documents case.

Cohen was asked in an interview with the host if he thinks Trump might face the penalty of jail time. He said he thinks Trump "actually knows that jail in and of itself is probably unlikely." ...

Rick Wilson lauded the seditious conspiracy convictions of four members of the Proud Boys for their roles in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

But the former longtime Republican strategist, who in 2019 co-founded the Lincoln Project to fight the GOP’s growing autocratic tendencies of the Trump era, believes that putting the foot soldiers of Jan. 6 behind bars is just the first step.

Wilson now wants to see the shot callers held to account and is urging special counsel Jack Smith to move up the food chain....
