Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host who was once engaged to Donald Trump Jr., was confirmed to the post last year. The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that top lawmakers on the House and Senate foreign affairs panels have pressed Secretary of State Marco Rubio to examine her conduct. They cited a recent Journal investigation into her campaign to promote natural gas deals involving a Greek company across southeastern Europe.

"If these reports are accurate, Ambassador Guilfoyle is unfit to represent the United States abroad and should be removed from her position," Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) wrote in a Wednesday letter to Rubio....

The ex-fiancée of Donald Trump Jr. had reportedly told Greeks that Trump would make the stop on his return trip following the NATO summit in nearby Ankara, Turkey. Fires raging across central Greece and the island of Crete have been brought under control as the country battles the fallout from more than a month without rain, the fire brigade said on Sunday. Stephen Whyte of Bradenton, Fla., confirmed to Raw Story that he purchased a Golden Dawn shirt from the online store Midgård in October 2020. The purchase was made only weeks after a Greek court convicted high-ranking members of the neo-Nazi party, Golden Dawn, of attempted murder and other crimes.

Large forest fires in north-east Greece near the border with Turkey continued to burn for the ninth day in a row on Sunday. Conditions for firefighters are very difficult and hopes of containing the fire are not yet in sight, Dimitris Petrovich, the region's deputy governor, told broadcaster ERT on Sunday morning.
