Michael Sparks, 62, was arrested five days after an elderly couple were reported missing in August. He appeared in court for a preliminary hearing this week, at which a judge ruled there was enough evidence for trial.

"They found the suspect at his home in Olive Dell Ranch, billed as a 'family friendly' RV park and a reputed Southern California nudist resort," according to the report. "A cadaver dog alerted police to a bunker underneath the home, where they recovered two bodies, dismembered, mutilated and stored in plastic bags."...

With letter carrier robberies skyrocketing by 543 percent between 2019 and 2022, the issue has spurred a bipartisan group of Congress members to introduce legislation aimed at providing more secure mailbox equipment and better protecting letter carriers.

Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), who introduced the Protect our Letter Carriers Act last week, said Raw Story's investigation should urge Congress to turn the bill into law....

'Whoops': Trump aide says ex-president is 'the one to blame' for nursing student's murder

A former Trump campaign aide says that, despite the narrative that President Joe Biden is to blame for the recent death of a Georgia nursing student who was allegedly murdered by an undocumented immigrant, the blood may actually be more on the hands of her former boss, Trump.

A.J. Delgado, a former Trump 2016 campaign aide, made headlines in November of 2023 when she accused longtime Trump aide Jason Miller of engaging in "a cycle of sexual coercion, rape, sexual assault, abuse, battery, sexual harassment, and sex trafficking."

Now she's drawing attention to the situation in which a Venezuelan immigrant has been accused of killing a nursing student, Laken Riley....

Former judge who killed a prosecutor in front of courthouse wants a new trial: report

A former Texas judge serving time on death row for gunning down a prosecutor in front of a courthouse and also slaying a district attorney and wife months later is seeking a new capital punishment trial.

Nearly a decade after the one-time Kaufman County justice of the peace Eric Williams was convicted of going on a killing spree that killed Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland, his wife Cynthia, and Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse — he wants another crack in the court, according to WFAA.

In his 169-page filing, Williams claims his defense was hastily prepared for the state's case, argued that the judge was biased, and that moving the trial venue from Kaufman County to Rockwall County was insufficient in toning down the trial's high media profile....

Alex Murdaugh crushed by judge after making groveling apologies to victims: report

Disgraced former South Carolina lawyer and convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh, already serving a life sentence, was given an additional 27 years in prison for defrauding clients and partners at his law firm on Tuesday — and the presiding judge showed no mercy as he tore into Murdaugh following his prostrate apology, reported The Daily Beast.

“It is so important to me that you know how bothered I am by the things that I did,” Murdaugh, who had pleaded guilty to the embezzlement offenses, told the court at his sentencing, apologizing to his family and to his surviving son, while bemoaning his drug addiction and continuing to deny his guilt in the murders of his wife and other son.

But Judge Clifton Newman was unmoved by Murdaugh's words....
