Dem stunned after FBI and DOJ admit to suspiciously timed wiretapping scheme: report

Dem stunned after FBI and DOJ admit to suspiciously timed wiretapping scheme: report

A rookie Democratic congressman sounded the alarm after the FBI and Justice Department told him that they had been monitoring his phone calls.

According to a Thursday report by Politico, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) revealed in a statement that federal authorities monitored his phone conversations with a state senator. The FBI and DOJ informed him about the wiretapping and said it was part of a corruption investigation, Politico reported.

The FBI and DOJ have been investigating Virginia state Sen. L. Louise Lucas for possible corruption and bribery, according to local reports. A Virginia ABC affiliate described Lucas as a "powerful Democrat" in the state's legislature and noted that her office and businesses were raided in May over alleged bribery....

'She's more co-conspirator': Epstein assistant's role in abuse scheme faces House scrutiny

A former assistant to Jeffrey Epstein appears to have played a much more damning role than Republicans would like to believe, alleged a Democratic member of the House Oversight Committee.

"Sarah Kellen comes up a lot," said Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) said Saturday on MS NOW, speaking about the Epstein files. "She was essentially a gatekeeper for Epstein. She was paramount in making him available to be able to do these heinous crimes."

The House Oversight Committee has scheduled Kellen, who started working as Epstein's assistant in 2000, to testify May 21 in a transcribed interview as part of its investigations into the disgraced financier's connections....

Bill Clinton claims Trump shared vastly different Epstein 'falling out' story: House Dem

Former President Bill Clinton revealed to lawmakers Friday that he had a previous conversation with President Donald Trump about what really caused the rift between him and Jeffrey Epstein years ago.

Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost (D-FL) described what Clinton said during a closed-door House Oversight Committee deposition in Chappaqua, New York, over his relationship with Epstein.

"I’m happy to clarify. President Clinton brought up a conversation he had with Trump in NYC re: Epstein," Frost wrote on X. "President Clinton said that Trump told him that he had a falling out with Epstein due to a land dispute. This directly refutes Trump’s claims about why he fell out with Epstein."...

Dem floored as Hillary Clinton 'ran circles around Republicans' during Epstein deposition

A Democratic lawmaker Thursday revealed several insights about what happened inside the room where former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was pressed by the House Oversight Committee about her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein — explaining she did not know him.

Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) told CNN anchor Jake Tapper that Clinton explained she had never met the late financier and convicted child sex offender, and she did not have a relationship with his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.

"We would like the transcript to be released within 24 hours because the reality is she ran circles around the Republicans the entire time," Subramanyam said. "It's still going and she's answering every single question being asked. But the reality is we should be interviewing people who actually had a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who knew the guy, who at least met the guy and know about his crimes. There's so many people in the files and Hillary Clinton is not someone we should be focusing on." ...

'Covering this up': Dem makes stunning claim about DOJ's 'piecemeal' Epstein file drop

A Democrat on Tuesday warned that it's likely that lawmakers will pursue legal action against the Department of Justice over its delayed release of the Epstein files.

Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) told CNN that the DOJ has released these documents without context, and added the agency could face legal action.

The DOJ had released additional files overnight and later Tuesday said that a letter between deceased sex offender Epstein to Larry Nassar, a former U.S. gymnastics team doctor who was convicted of sexually abusing scores of young gymnasts, alleges that President Donald Trump shared their "love of young, nubile girls" — is fake....

'Hard to believe': Lawmaker suspects Trump and Bannon must have known of Epstein abuse

'Hard to believe': Lawmaker suspects Trump and Bannon must have known of Epstein abuse

A House Oversight Committee member said he suspects President Donald Trump and MAGA strategist Steve Bannon must have known about late financier Jeffrey Epstein's abuse and trafficking of girls, according to a report Monday.

Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) told TMZ how survivors have told lawmakers that Epstein proudly showed off images of his victims in his own homes, including one in the newly released batch of photos that showed a young girl passed out on a couch. That photo was framed and placed on Epstein's desk, something the convicted child abuser "wasn't shy about," the outlet reported. It was unclear when the photo of Bannon and Epstein was taken. Bannon was advising Epstein in 2018, years after Epstein's 2008 plea in Florida, which Subramanyam called "particularly egregious."

That makes it "hard for us to believe that people like Bannon and Trump didn't know, particularly Bannon," Subramanyam told TMZ....
