Ex-GOP strategist fires back after Elon Musk death threat: ‘Pathetic little boy'

Former Republican strategist Tim Miller had a blistering response for Elon Musk after the billionaire posted an ominous message aimed at him and his colleagues.

Miller responded on a Saturday episode of "Bulwark Takes" after Musk replied to a clip from the hosts' recent live show in Atlanta by writing, "If they want to live by the sword, that is how they will die too."

The clip, posted by an account Miller described as a MAGA meme page, showed his colleague Jonathan V. Last arguing that people don't loathe Musk enough and calling for him to face congressional subpoenas next year. "However mad you are about Elon Musk, it's not enough," Last told the crowd. "Justice is coming."

"Richest man in the world. Posting that about myself, three of my colleagues," Miller said. "That is how they will die, too."

Miller pointed out that Musk cracked down on speech after the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and claimed to be deeply sensitive about it.

"It's pretty strange to do a direct threat of death to another podcaster," he said. "And that's what that is, right? I don't know how else you can read it."

Miller added that a crazed fan could take the post as a cue. "This is the richest guy in the world tweeting a direct threat to us," he said. "So I think that's bad. I think that's irresponsible."

Still, Miller insisted he wasn't rattled. "I'm not going to cry, but I think it's funny that he's such a pathetic little boy," he said, before comparing Musk to Gru from "Despicable Me." "He's like Gru in the sense that he's making all these threats and thinks that he's a Dr. Evil, evil genius. And actually, he's just kind of a pathetic, sad man."

Miller also argued the post betrayed nerves about the midterms, pointing to what he described as Musk's lavish spending on GOP Senate candidates, including Ken Paxton in Texas. "Also doesn't really seem like an argument from a place of confidence about how things are going in the midterms," he said.

"Elon. Chill out," Miller said. "It's unseemly to be doing death threats on your own platform."
