In his latest attack on communism, President Donald Trump lashed out Saturday at “loud and unattractive people” who he said were allowing the Democratic Party to be steered toward the left.
“The Radical Left Lunatics, often referred to as Dumocrats, have lost control of their Party,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “They are being led by loud and unattractive people who have totally lost their way. Hopefully, they will fight back, and not let this sick, Communist ideology, take over America!”
Trump has increasingly referenced communism in recent weeks following a string of electoral victories in Democratic primary elections by self-proclaimed democratic socialists. Critics have accused Trump of focusing on communism as a tool to distract Americans from his administration’s failures to adequately address the issue of affordability.
