The Supreme Court on Monday cleared the way for Donald Trump to continue construction of his controversial White House ballroom, handing the president his latest legal victory.
The justices rejected a challenge from a historic preservation group that sought to indefinitely halt construction of the massive project, CNN reported. The court split 5-4 in the decision.
The legal fight over the ballroom has been ongoing after lower courts ruled against the project, finding Trump lacked authority. The conservative Supreme Court’s move allows construction to continue while the broader legal battle plays out.
