Trump ‘prepared to finish off’ nation’s future after MAGA midterm win: ex-Trump official

Former Trump administration official Miles Taylor, who now runs DEFIANCE.org, warned in a column that he knows what follows the midterms if voters stay home.

Indeed, he said, if left to his own devices, President Donald Trump is “prepared to finish off your future.”

Taylor said he posted a scorecard in January showing that nearly all of his warnings about a second Trump term had come true. He argued that if Trump’s movement wins on Nov. 3 and Democrats fall short, Trump will believe he has unchecked power.

His predictions began with Trump contesting unfavorable results, pointing to Justice Department grand jury subpoenas to California and Washington election officials and a failed bid to set aside 20,000 mail ballots. He expects a Congress that remains MAGA-aligned to stay silent, with no hearings on retribution and no reopening of the Epstein investigation, and said Trump will keep directing federal spending as he chooses.

Taylor also forecast that Trump will take control of the Federal Reserve, prosecute critics, escalate pressure on the press, defy courts and station troops in major cities by summer 2027. He said Trump will pursue changes to voting through the SAVE America Act and a federal citizenship database, and above all that he will not leave office, noting Trump has said he’d “love” a third term.

Taylor concluded the 2028 election “will not be certifiable” with Trump at the helm.

“That’s what happens if you don’t vote,” he warned, adding that by contrast, a decisive result could make Trump and his officials fear accountability and rein in his power.
