E. Jean Carroll's lawyer made a 'very savvy move' that kept Trump in line: ex-prosecutor

Donald Trump has in the past used his courtroom testimonials to spread his beliefs about election interference, but on Thursday his testimony in the E. Jean Carroll case was limited to about three minutes in which he was mostly kept in line. That's in part due to a smart technique by Carroll's attorney, an ex-prosecutor said on Thursday.

The former president's brief set of answers were no accident, according to former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti, who often appears on MSNBC.

Trump encourages all states to send their troops to Texas to help Greg Abbott

In a two-part rant on Truth Social Thursday evening, former President Donald Trump called on Republican-controlled states to send National Guard troops to Texas to help Gov. Greg Abbott repel a supposed "invasion."

"When I was President, we had the most secure Border in History," wrote Trump. "Joe Biden has surrendered our Border, and is aiding and abetting a massive Invasion of millions of Illegal Migrants into the United States. Instead of fighting to protect our Country from this onslaught, Biden is, unbelievably, fighting to tie the hands of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas, so that the Invasion continues unchecked. In the face of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health Catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution, and must be given full support to repel the Invasion.…"
