President Donald Trump had a peculiar moment during his latest rally, in which he tried to complain once again about not winning the Nobel Peace Prize, as he has done for months — but then couldn't remember the name of the prize.
"They gave the wonderful peace prize, right?" said Trump. "Does anybody know the name of that peace prize? They gave the Pulitzer Prize to a young lady."
Trump's confusion of the Nobel Peace Prize with the Pulitzer Prize, a completely unrelated award for journalism, got immediate attention and scorn from commenters on social media, many of whom considered it a worse mental blunder than Trump usually makes.
"Like I said earlier: could all those doctors he boasts about traveling with, just institutionalize him now? Send him inside for 48 hours?" wrote political commentator Keith Olbermann.
"The Pulitzer Peace Prize everyone," wrote Ron Filipkowski, editor-in-chief of Meidas Touch.
"That MAGA crowd is either completely zoned out or too stupid to realize what a blithering idiot Trump is," wrote political commentator "Polly Sigh."
"It's almost elder abuse to let him keep speaking," wrote education expert Rose Benson.
