'Too far': Liberal justice rips new Supreme Court ruling in sharp dissent

A liberal Supreme Court justice tore into her conservative colleagues' latest decision on Friday afternoon after the high court delivered a significant win to President Donald Trump, allowing his administration to continue freezing nearly $4 billion in foreign aid funding that Congress had allocated.

Justice Elena Kagan issued a scathing dissent in the Supreme Court case Department of State v. Aids Vaccine Advocacy Coalition, noting the emergency application raised "novel issues fundamental to the relationship between the President and Congress."

'Defund the Supreme Court': Experts bash new 'shadow' ruling after 'terrible decision'

Chief Justice John Roberts killed another injunction that would have paused some of President Donald Trump's decisions from taking effect before they made their way through the courts. Legal analysts say that in the most recent case, it's an example of the Supreme Court killing Congress's constitutional power.

The stay in the case, State Department v. AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition, was decided along partisan lines, with the six justices nominated by Republican presidents. Nearly $5 billion in foreign aid was already passed by in its 2025 budget during the 2024 Congress.

'Okay, Sweetie': Right-wing official smacked down by vet after attack on Dem's Navy record

Veteran and activist Charlotte Clymer gave a thorough smackdown to New York State Conservative Party leader Jerry Kassar on X, after the latter tried to lecture her about U.S. military academy honor codes.

The controversy stems from an incident this week in which the Trump administration illegally leaked records from New Jersey Rep. Mikie Sherrill's time in the Naval Academy. That data revealed that Sherrill, currently running for governor in a closely-watched race against Trump acolyte Jack Ciattarelli, was prohibited from walking at commencement because she failed to turn in classmates involved in a widespread cheating scandal — though she herself was not implicated in the cheating and went on to serve for nine years, attaining the rank of lieutenant.

Comey prosecutors get another 'bad sign' with new grand jury transcripts

Grand jury transcripts have been made available from the Justice Department's case against former FBI Director James Comey, and MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin noted that just 60% of grand jurors in Virginia agreed to indict him — a far cry from the unanimous number they'll need to secure a conviction.

Of the 23 people on the grand jury, just 14 agreed to indict. Twelve were needed to proceed with the case.

Supreme Court makes 'significant' ruling in Trump's battle over purse power

The Supreme Court once again punted on a case challenging President Donald Trump's ability to unilaterally defy Congress, in a move that at least for now grants him even more power — and further complicates the prospects of an imminent government shutdown.

The Supreme Court case State Department v. AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition was decided along partisan lines, with the six justices nominated by Republican presidents voting to block a lower court’s ruling that would have forced the Trump administration to spend all $10.5 billion in foreign aid before the money expired at the end of the month. The three justices appointed by Democratic presidents dissented.

'Unqualified goobers': Expert says Trump's new prosecutors are fumbling his revenge scheme

President Donald Trump's hand-picked prosecutors are being tasked with locking up his political opponents in a full-bore retribution spree — but it's off to a shaky start because those prosecutors are "unqualified goobers" who have no idea what they're doing, analyst Liz Dye said in a blistering video for the popular YouTube law analysis channel Legal Eagle.

"The Trump political revenge tour is now in full swing. It's like the Taylor Swift Eras Tour, but with a little more makeup and a whole lot more destruction of the rule of law," Dye began.
