Complaints about new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia after her first nationally televised press conference were not limited to critics of the Donald Trump administration.
MAGA fans were not pleased in the least, with many hoping it was just “nerves.”
Promoting a stream of the press conference, MAGA influencer Nick Sortor, fresh off hyping a debunked James Talarico mental health story, told his followers, “New White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia holds her FIRST briefing Katie is going to absolutely KlLL it!”
MAGA supporters disagreed after she fled the podium.
NavyDadx3 was sympathetic: “I guess I was expecting a ‘Leavitt’ type presser... Tough act to follow, for anyone. Good luck, Katie.” SpaceIgnorant replied, “That was worse than all of Bidens secretaries. She isn’t the one.”
“I hope she gets comfortable. She sounds like she’s reading to her kindergarten class,” another Trump supporter suggested.
Ohio Republican Kathleen Tackett offered an emphatic “NO NO NO” accompanied by a facepalm emoji.
“Bring back Karoline. Not a good start for Katie and now, she said Kimberly was asked to resign in a matter of fact way. Hmmmm,” wrote Victor Polce.
Conservative Barbara Burbige lamented, “Disappointed. Difficult to watch. Not press secretary material. Bad choice.”
