Crime scene (Shuttershock)

An Orange County, California man who allegedly beat his girlfriend with a baseball bat because she refused to have sex with him is currently in custody awaiting trial, the Orange County Register reports.

Jackee Jeffries is awaiting arraignment on multiple felonies, including felony corporal injury on a cohabitant, forced sodomy, dissuading a witness by force, assault with a deadly weapon. He's also facing two misdemeanor counts.

Authorities told the Register that Jeffries became enraged on Friday night when his girlfriend refused to have sex with him, so he responded by striking her several times with a baseball bat.

“When she said no, he forced himself on her,” Placentia police Lt. Eric Point told the paper. “When she tried to get away, and she rejected his advances, he struck her.”

The woman had to be treated for a head laceration and broken bones to her arm and hand at a nearby hospital.

Jeffries also allegedly struck the woman's 17-year-old son with the bat when the teen tried to intervene. The boy was not seriously injured.
