Two students at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan were caught on camera writing racist slogans and symbols in the snow piled on a group of parked cars.
According to MLive.com, the students confessed when they were confronted by school officials who recognized them from the parking lot's security video.
Officials reviewed the security footage after students reported finding swastikas and "white power" slogans written in the snow on their cars around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Fox 17 TV quoted a college spokesperson, who described the words and symbols on the vehicles as "hateful, racialized and profane.”
On Monday, Calvin College President Michael Le Roy sent a letter to students, faculty and staff saying that hate slogans and racism "have no place at Calvin College."
The students will face disciplinary action for violating the college's safer spaces policy.
The suspects' names were not released as per university policy involving student matters.
