A 91-year-old El Paso man confessed to shooting and killing his terminally-ill wife on Sunday inside the retirement home where they both lived, KVIA-TV reported.
Nelson Harvey is being held on a $25,000 bond and faces murder charges in the death of 93-year-old Evelyn Harvey. The couple had been married for 60 years.
KFOX-TV reported that Nelson Harvey alerted staff members after shooting his wife and gave them his gun. She was found in her bed with a wound to the back of her head.
According to a police affadavit, he also told employees that he was "tired of his wife suffering."
