Former United Nations secretary general Boutros Boutros-Ghali passed away on Tuesday. And while the Egyptian leader may be remembered for his long service in government, he'll also be remembered for his sense of humor and good sportsmanship.
Ghali sat down with comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's character, Ali G, for a spoof interview in 2003 and gamely explained to the clueless Brit why Disneyland wasn't a member of the United Nations and smiled when Ali G got his name wrong. He laughingly told Ali G how to say "shit" in French and helpfully spelled it out for him.
When Ali G asked him which language sounded the funniest to him, Ghali said, "I am not allowed to [laugh at them], I am the secretary general. I have to have a poker face, like this." Ghali then demonstrated his poker face.
In his interview with Ali G, Ghali demonstrated unique patience, as many of Cohen's interview subjects either became angry or walked out on him, like Donald Trump did.
