Ivanka Trump's rabbi pulls out of the RNC -- after he'd planned to lead a prayer against bigotry

If there's one thing we don't expect to hear at this year's Republican National Convention, it's prayers asking for freedom from bigotry and intolerance.

Politico reports that Ivanka Trump's own rabbi has backed out of delivering an invocation at the RNC next week. Rabbi Haskel Lookstein said in a message to his congregation on Friday that he decided against appearing at the RNC after his presence there raised concerns among some of his members.

"Unfortunately, when my name appeared on a list of speakers at the convention, without the context of the invocation I had been invited to present, the whole matter turned from rabbinic to political, something which was never intended," Lookstein wrote.

One particularly interesting line from Lookstein's planned invocation reads, "We know that we are living in very dangerous times, when all of these blessings are threatened from without, by forces of terror and unimaginable brutality, and from within, by those who sow the seeds of bigotry, hatred and violence, putting our lives and our way of life at risk."

Someone who sows the seeds of bigotry and hatred... who does that sound like, I wonder?
