Dad boasts that his 8-year-old daughter bit 'warm, quivering' deer's heart on hunting trip

A New Zealand father proudly posted on social media that his 8-year-old daughter killed her first deer and bit into its "warm, quivering heart" after it was cut out of the corpse.

AlterNet said on Wednesday that the social media backlash was swift and intense.

Police officer Johnny Yuile uploaded photos of himself and his daughter Chloe with the dead animal to the Facebook group NZ Women Huntas -- including a close-up shot of the girl biting into the deer's bloody heart.

"Hey, you hunter chicks, I'm a proud dad," Yuile wrote. "Check out my little pink ninja princess Chloe (8) with her first deer, a young stag."

He explained how they tracked and killed the deer before writing, "Then she took a bite from its warm, quivering heart. Go Chloe!!"

NZ Stuff reported that Chloe has been hunting with her father since she was 8 years old.

She told the website she enjoys hunting and was proud of her first kill.

"I saw my uncle bite the heart so I thought I might bite it too," she said, explaining her decision. "It tasted quite nice."

Commenters piled on the the Facebook post, many of them angry.

"Sounds like a psychopath to me, no normal kid wants to do something like that to that degree. It was either forced or she truly does have some deep problems," wrote a commenter named Kayla Rose. "Hunting is one thing, mutilating is another."

"Eating a raw creature's heart after you kill it," wrote commenter Charles Haley. "Sounds a touch evil. Not to mention disgusting and disease ridden. Any same person would realize there is nothing okay about this."

Johnny Yuile told BuzzFeed News that he's unfazed by the outcry.

“Chloe and I love our adventures together,” he said.
