NEWARK -- A Newark police officer was charged with sexually assaulting a young girl, an Essex County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday. Manny Marques, 36, of West Caldwell, was arrested Sept. 10 on a charge of first degree aggravated sexual assault of the girl and third degree child endangerment, according to prosecutor's office spokeswoman Katherine Carter.…
