NBC preparing to fire Billy Bush from 'Today Show' for role in Trump sex tape: report

Today Show host Billy Bush will be looking for a new job soon, according to a CNN report.

NBC suspended Bush this week after a leaked tape showed him egging on Donald Trump as the billionaire talked about sexually assaulting women.

Although Bush quickly apologized for his part in the tape, NBC said that he would be off the air pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

But sources told CNN's Brian Stelter on Tuesday that Bush would be leaving the Today Show permanently.

"Billy Bush's departure from the Today Show is a matter of when, not a matter of if," Stelter said. "There's negotiations going on between his camp and NBC trying to figure out how he will exit, but he won't be back on the Today Show."

A source told People magazine that Bush knew about the tape and that NBC was plotting how to edit out the star's role when it was leaked, which the network has denied.

“That was the plan — they were trying to approve it and then someone leaked it. That’s what Access Hollywood eventually did and they played it … but it was already out,” the source said. “If they wanted to protect him, they could have edited it out which they did on the final Access piece that aired on Friday, but they left it in when it was leaked.”
