'Bring your binders full of women': Elizabeth Warren mocks Trump's meeting with Romney

Sen. Elizabeth Warren ripped Donald Trump and former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney over reports the former rivals are meeting this weekend to discuss a potential cabinet position.

Alongside a graphic highlighting the overwhelming majority of old white men on Trump’s cabinet shortlist, Warren asked if Romney could bring his “binder full of women” with him to the meeting.

Romney made the “binders fill of women” remark during the second 2012 presidential debate. In a response to a question about pay equality, Romney touted his own cabinet as Governor of Massachusetts, exclaiming: “I went to a number of women's groups and said, 'Can you help us find folks?' And they brought us whole binders full of women.”

The comment quickly transformed into an internet meme, becoming one of the most memorable phrases of the election. Romney dismissed notions that the comment hurt his run for the White House, telling Katie Couric, “I don’t think I lost any votes for that.”

During the 2016 campaign, the former governor was one of the most vocal critics of Trump, repeatedly calling him a “fraud” and a “con man” and urging Republicans to nominate another candidate. Now, Romney will meet his former rival in Bedmister, N.J. and is reportedly in talks for the position of Secretary of State. Observers continue to speculate over which—if any—female leaders will be tapped for the president-elect’s cabinet.
