What should probably have been an hours-long blip in the 24-hour news cycle has rolled on into a second day after Donald Trump went on a Twitter rampage against the cast of the Broadway musical "Hamilton."
On Friday night, Vice President-elect Mike Pence and his security detail were heartily booed by members of the audience when they arrived to take their seats at the hit musical.
The cast addressed the soon-to-be member of the Executive Branch and asked him to reconsider his views with regards to women, people of color and LGBT Americans.
On Saturday, the president-elect took to Twitter to lambast the performers for speaking to his second-in-command in terms he felt weren't respectful enough. The tweets were hastily deleted, but Twitter users took screen captures.
The former reality TV star demanded that the cast issue a formal apology, which they declined. The Trump tweet storm, however, breathed life into the story for a second day and the #NameAPenceMusical hashtag was born.
