A 22-year-old University of Arizona student from Texas was beaten to death outside a bar on the Greek island of Zakynthos in the early hours of Friday.
The New York Daily News reported that Bakari Henderson died of severe head trauma after a fight erupted outside a bar called "Bar Code."
It's unknown what started the altercation, but witnesses reported seeing Henderson surrounded by a crowd of as many as 10 people, according to local newspaper Kathimerini.
Henderson was pronounced dead at a hospital on Zakynthos.
Kathimerini said that four people have been arrested in conjunction with the beating death. Initially only two suspects were taken into custody, a 32-year-old British man of Serbian origin and a 34-year-old Greek man. Both worked at a nightclub called Laganas.
After viewing security footage of the attack, which reportedly took about 30 seconds, police picked up two more suspects, a pair of 22-year-old Serbian nationals.
A British tourist was murdered by two Greek cab drivers in the same area in 2011, Kathimerini said.
