Donald Trump on Thursday said he would be willing to invite Vladimir Putin to the White House.

Responding to a question from NBC News, the president insisted he would host the Russian president “at the right time.”

Trump’s willingness to invite Putin comes as the investigation into possible collusion between Trump campaign associates and the Russian government inches closer to the Oval Office. This week, Trump’s son-in-law and top adviser Jared Kushner became embroiled in scandal after it was revealed he and Trump's son attended a meeting with a Russian lawyer during the campaign to obtain information on Hillary Clinton.
