A Jamaican man is pleading with Donald Trump to allow himself and his daughter into the United States to attend the funeral his 11-year old, the Courier Post reports.
Kenroy Smith is asking the Trump administration to issue a visa so they can say goodbye to his daughter, AbbieGail "Abbie" Smith. Abbie was killed on July 13 from a stab wound to the neck. Her upstairs neighbor, Andreas Erazo, has been charged with her murder.
"My dear little AbbieGail was taken away and I need to pay my last respects to her," Kenroy Smith said in a video on APP.com "That's all I'm asking."
Officials at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica denied Smith's daughter, Kenish Smith, a visa on Wednesday. Kenroy Smith had previously been deported on a drug charge from 2001.
"AbbieGail Smith needs her sister there at the moment,” Kenish Smith told the Post. "Who's going to stand up for us? We have no control. We can't do it on our own."
"She's my daughter. She's my everything,” Kenroy said. "Please let me see my daughter for the last day before she goes under."
“We are asking the lawmakers—it’s only for seven days," he said. "I’m just asking you please, I want to know why he killed my child. I want to see where he took her. I want to see where he stabbed her. I want to see where he dumped her."
"I'm not worried. I'm just praising God," he added.
