REVEALED: MTV censors 'F*ck Donald Trump' song with commercial break at 2017 VMAs

The 2017 VMAs brought several controversial comments against President Donald Trump as well as Katy Perry's support for Hillary Clinton, and Paris Jackson's passionate plea to fight back against white supremacists. But when it came to the performance of a popular anti-Trump song released in 2016, no one saw it.

While the night may have began with Kendrick Lamar's fiery anti-police rap intermixing racist Fox News commentary, when it came to the performance of YG & Nipsey Hussle song "FDT (F*ck Donald Trump)" the network took a commercial break.

The Hollywood Reporter‘s Scott Feinberg tweeted the performance taking place during the break. Presumably, MTV wasn't interested in trying to deal with the many many words that would have to be censored to comply with FCC guidelines. However, MYV was also criticized by viewers on Twitter during the performance for cutting to commercial in the middle of performances.

MTV has not released a statement on either topic and has not yet responded to requests for comment.
