Thursday morning's edition of "The View" included a fierce retort from conservative panelist Jebediah Bila aimed at former Republican presidential candidate and Fox News commentator Mike Huckabee.
During a Thursday appearance on the Fox Business Network, Huckabee launched a fusillade against the women panelists after he and his daughter appeared on the Wednesday broadcast, calling them "irrational" in their "hatred" of President Donald Trump.
“I have to believe there are a lot of smarter people in the American public than they think there is,” said the former pastor and father of White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. “Their hatred for Donald Trump is so irrational that I think that comes across.”
"We worked hard to do a fair interview," said co-host Whoopi Goldberg, "and I resent that you would do that because you would never say that about Stephen Colbert. You would never say that about Trevor Noah."
"If we'd have been irrational, he'd have been limping out of here," she said.
But it was conservative co-host Jebediah Bila who really unleashed on Huckabee, saying, "When you're a right-wing talking head -- and I was one, I worked for Fox News -- what you're trained to do is to go into what's referred to as the 'liberal cesspool' or the 'lions' den' and you go in there and you defend your point and go back to the friendly zone and you say 'Oh, you know, they're out of touch with America.'"
"That doesn't work here, Mike," continued Bila, "because I am a conservative and I didn't vote for Trump and I am standing for conservative principals. You don't get to say you came here and the 'liberal media' opposed you. I sat right here and it's not irrational that I opposed Donald Trump. Donald Trump's character was questionable."
