A Texas Tech police officer was shot dead on Monday, prompting a campus-wide shutdown, KCBD reports.
The shooting occurred just before 8:30 p.m. local time, police say. According to a statement, the suspect was brought to the police station after officers found drugs and paraphernalia during a student wellness check. At the station, the suspect pulled a gun and shot an officer in the head. The shooter is still at large.
