After the Alabama special Senate election was called in favor of Democrat Doug Jones, Twitter exploded into an uproar of celebration that, against tough odds and a lengthy uphill battle, the Alabama Democrat beat accused pedophile Roy Moore.
"Alabama will have a Democratic senator for the first time in a quarter century," Politico's Gabriel Debenedetti tweeted from the Jones's campaign headquarters in Birmingham.
"Message to Republicans in Congress: Embracing the nasty, divisive, mean-spirited, tiny little man in the White House will get you a similar result that Roy Moore got tonight," Cincinnati councilman P.G. Sittengeld tweeted. "So start showing some backbone already."
