Actress Asia Argento just delivered a searing takedown of Harvey Weinstein at Cannes, where she has said she was raped two decades ago.
The Italian actress told Ronan Farrow of the New Yorker, that in 1997 she was raped by Weinstein at the festival. She returned in the aftermath of the #MeToo movement and gave a speech that's gone viral.
"Even tonight, sitting among you, there are those among you who still have to be held accountable," she said. "For behavior that doesn't belong in this industry, doesn't belong in any industry or workplaces. You know who you are. And, most importantly, we know who you are."
Argento said that Cannes was Weinstein's "hunting ground" and did express relief that he would never be welcomed there "ever again.”
