On Wednesday, CNN's Anderson Cooper knocked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for blocking a legislation that would protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

McConnell said that the bill was “a solution in search of a problem.”

Cooper shut down McConnell's remarks by listing various problems that President Donald Trump has with Mueller.

"A solution in search of a problem, he says. The majority leader seems to be suggesting there's no reason to believe the president would take action to undermine the special counsel to delegitimize his work in the public eye," Cooper said. "Defenders of the president says he has yet to do anything along those lines."

"Keeping them honest. If a bill protecting the special counsel is a problem [then why did Trump replace] the attorney general with someone who has spoken out against the Russian probe?" Cooper added.

"The president of the United States who you would think has a lot of things to work on at all times took time to find this and retweeted something from what is essentially a fan account. Is that a problem?" Cooper said.
