DETROIT — A lawyer who helped bring a lawsuit challenging the validity of thousands of Detroit absentee ballots ahead of last fall's election launched a campaign last week for the Republican nomination for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat. Attorney Alexandria Taylor, 42, of Romulus last week called the upcoming Senate race "pivotal" and said she would bring "strong conservative/family values" to the race.
