I'm not the first blogger to notice this recently, but man the trolls are getting more numerous, meaner, and less intelligent by the minute, aren't they? Roxanne is right---they're bad when they're winning, but insufferable when they're losing.
Really, it's just more evidence that the engine of wingnuttery is resentment. Everything is about sticking it to "liberals", a group that's defined as "elite", as in having things you don't think you have---good sex, intelligence, wit, fun friends, the ability to conjugate verbs in your native tongue, whatever it is that you don't think you have---and if they can't frustrate those smarmy liberals by winning elections, they'll spend all day bothering you in roughly the same way a fly that insists on landing on your food does.
More than anything, Sarah Palin was picked to appeal to these choads. If completely fucking up the country is what they have to do to make those people who think they're so smart/cool/literate sad, then that's what it will take.
The worst part of it is that "liberals" aren't the ever so fuckable awesome snooty elites that Limbaugh says we are. Some are smart, some not as much. Some witty, some not. Some sexy, some not. You know, it's a mix. Like almost a cross-section of humanity. We just look better by comparison to a group that self-selects for resentment.
