I was going to pick "Boo Hoo Fucking Hoo" by the Yuppie Pricks for today's Genius pick, to honor the "you made FUN of US" whining we've had to tolerate from self-described libertarians this week, but alas, there's no You Tube video for it. But there is for Devo's "Through Being Cool".
It was a song they wrote in horrified response to the election of Ronald Reagan, and really it's just an angry cry against the idiots who voted for Reagan, disguised under the downright cheerful melody and arrangement. Because the possibility of Devo or their fans running around actually beating some spuds and showing evil spuds what's what is low. But you can mock.
