An unnamed 15-year-old was arrested in Novato, California this week after police discovered a U.S. military issue rocket launcher commonly used during the worst of the fighting in Iraq. Officers discovered the weapon during a routine traffic stop.

The teen's classmates from San Marin high school told CBS News in San Francisco that the boy's older sibling had served in combat, and some speculated that he may have brought the weapon home with him. The rocket launcher was not loaded.

Update: A reader brought it to our attention that the AT4 rocket launcher cannot be reloaded after it is fired, as they're designed for one-time use only. Possessing the spent tube is not illegal and they're occasionally sold on eBay.
